Summary

New cover reissue of this magical story from award-winning international bestselling picture book creator of Lost and Found, Oliver Jeffers。

Once there as a boy, and one day, he found an aeroplane in his cupboard…

He didn’t remember leaving it in there, but he thought he’d take it out for a go right away。 At first, all went well and the plane flew higher and higher and higher until… suddenly, with a splutter, it ran out of petrol。 The boy was stuck on the moon… and he was not alone…

2。5/5 This tale of an adventurous boy who meets and befriends a Martian is sure to appeal to children aged 4-8 particularly if they are already fans of Oliver Jeffers illustrative style。 I found it lacked the depth of many of his other picturebooks but I suppose they can't all tug on the heart strings! 。。。more

This was very short and slight。 Based on the blurb I expected more suspense and more emotion。 It wouldn't have taken many additional panels to show some real friendship between the two lost boys; instead they're strangers who pass and exchange momentary, impersonal help。 This was very short and slight。 Based on the blurb I expected more suspense and more emotion。 It wouldn't have taken many additional panels to show some real friendship between the two lost boys; instead they're strangers who pass and exchange momentary, impersonal help。 。。。more

A boy and A Martian met each other when they were stuck on the moon。 Together they looked for the way back to their home。 In order to bring the things needed, the boy had to jump down to earth alone。 While he was already at home, would he remember to help the Martian back to his planet? This is Sabio's first Oliver Jeffers book。 Its story is clear and directly to the point。 Yet, enjoyable。 The main characters legs are drawed as thin lines, contrasting with other illustrations in the book which ar A boy and A Martian met each other when they were stuck on the moon。 Together they looked for the way back to their home。 In order to bring the things needed, the boy had to jump down to earth alone。 While he was already at home, would he remember to help the Martian back to his planet? This is Sabio's first Oliver Jeffers book。 Its story is clear and directly to the point。 Yet, enjoyable。 The main characters legs are drawed as thin lines, contrasting with other illustrations in the book which are very lovely。 Mom find this book really cute and amazingly fit to be read before sleep。 。。。more

Original review - July 22, 2021, 3 stars I liked that the book celebrates being friends with those that are different than you as well as figuring out ways to solve a problem。 But I kind of hated how the boy just jumped off the moon and got home。 It seems like he could have done that at the beginning when he first got to the moon。 I just don't find this book as poignant as many of the other reviewers on here seem to。Updated review - November 13, 2021, 2 stars Weirdly, I liked this book less the Original review - July 22, 2021, 3 stars I liked that the book celebrates being friends with those that are different than you as well as figuring out ways to solve a problem。 But I kind of hated how the boy just jumped off the moon and got home。 It seems like he could have done that at the beginning when he first got to the moon。 I just don't find this book as poignant as many of the other reviewers on here seem to。Updated review - November 13, 2021, 2 stars Weirdly, I liked this book less the second time around。 I've reading The Boy: His Stories and How They Came to Be and hearing about the motivation behind the books make me like Lost and Found more but didn't really help for this one。 It just REALLY REALLY bothers me that the boy just jumps down from the moon because he definitely could have done that without the martian's help。 Also, the part where he just forgets about his whole mission and watches tv。。。 meh。 I did like the walkie talkie part at the end though。 。。。more

Cuento con hermosas ilustraciones, que van ampliando el relato a través de estas ilustraciones, capturando al lector。

Cute。 And silly。 And without especially good art。 But a nice enough story。 And imaginative in a kind of careless way。 I keep expecting to find one of the books by this author to be to my taste。 It wasn't this one though。 Cute。 And silly。 And without especially good art。 But a nice enough story。 And imaginative in a kind of careless way。 I keep expecting to find one of the books by this author to be to my taste。 It wasn't this one though。 。。。more

Whimsical and lovely from beginning to end。

A really fantastic story about a boy whose plane runs out of fuel in space。 An alien also crashes onto the moon and they work together to fix their planes and get home。 A good example of working together and helping others。 You could use this with a ks1 class to discuss space, literacy lessons- write thank you letters, write similar stories with lots of verbs。 There are also lots of suffixes in this story so a good one to use to help a child's understanding in this area。 A really fantastic story about a boy whose plane runs out of fuel in space。 An alien also crashes onto the moon and they work together to fix their planes and get home。 A good example of working together and helping others。 You could use this with a ks1 class to discuss space, literacy lessons- write thank you letters, write similar stories with lots of verbs。 There are also lots of suffixes in this story so a good one to use to help a child's understanding in this area。 。。。more

This book is about a little boy who imagines what it would be like if he could fly an airplane to the moon。 He dreams of crashing on true moon, meeting a Martian who also crash landed, and how they would help each other make it back home。 This is a great book for a 1st grade student as they would enjoy the imaginative aspect of the story。

Belle Sabattin

Oliver Jeffers siempre llega al corazón。 Una bella historia sobre ayudar a otros por muy diferentes que seamos y de que trabajar en equipo siempre tiene sus recompensas <3

Ally Knowles

This book shows how friendship can transition over so many things! And it conquers all!

They are not alone anymore!

Jen

Cute but odd story about a boy who flies his airplane to the moon and becomes friends with an alien。

Nicki

Adorable book about building friendships and helping others even if you are different!

Maggie Adams

This book is fun to read for student but also has that science fiction aspect to it。 It shows friendship and is imaginative。 I enjoyed reading it and really think Jeffers did a great job with this!!

Bethlyn Allmey

A sweet book about acceptance and helping each other through tough times。 A boy and an alien both get stuck on the moon and at first they are scared of each other, until they realise they can work together to fix their problems。 A lot to learn and discuss with this book。
